I do, all too well. We were undefeated that season and this game marks the only "blemish" on a spectacular season. None of our games were televised and we were on probation. Nevertheless, it was one of the best teams A&M has ever had.

Was at the Alamodome that day for the 21-21 tie. Rodney Thomas' had a heck of a game.......really glad that SMU kicker missed the 40 yard field goal near the end of the game that would have won it for them.

A&M dominated just about every team they played that year.

Back then we (the students) complained that A&M didn't pass the ball enough. Probably 90% of the plays were running plays. This past decade made me realize how good we had it back then with our dominating running game.

NO, it wasn't at home. I too was rebuilding bonfire and was just blown away, in shock and thinking this has to be some joke.

I can guarantee that we will not tie this year's contest.

I believe that was the undefeated, yet still tied by SMU game where we played in the Alamodome. I was there, as a wide eyed BQ fish. We couldn't figure out what the hell was wrong with our team, but the gulf coast offense couldn't move the ball effectively.

No. I have purged that game from my memory, as should all Good Ags.

i remember it, my girlfriend, now wife got so mad she threw something against the wall....we were both in shock that we lost to stinkin smu when we were so good that year. Also remember listening to away games on the radio that year (no tv)...that stunk.

First Aggies game I ever went to. Was one pissed off little kid leaving The stadium. Couldn't understand how they could allow ties in college football.

I was there....

That's the only game I've been to in my life where both sides left the stadium depressed....SMU because they came so close to the upset and fell short and A&M because we had just fought a way inferior team to a tie.

Yes, I was a freshman.

If I remember right, Tom Rossely (our QB coach) was the coach of SMU at that time.

No Memphis...that was the next year where we won on a last second pass from Corey to Albert.

No, you are confusing the game vs. SMU at Kyle in '95. Our team was coming off back to back losses after starting the season ranked in the top 5. They played with no life and SMU scored in the last minute to take the lead. Then the Ags took the kickoff and came back, and with a few seconds left Corey Pullig hit Albert Connell in the south end zone to pull it out.

I was on my way back from Kuwait when I saw the scoreboard. I also heard that we had to score late just to tie the game. And SMU won I think one game that year.

Oh yeah, I remember it well. I was lovesick with my girlfriend and listening to the game on the radio (remember no TV that year). It was a bitter pill to swallow.

remember that game ALL too well. bryant could not make an extra point that game, or any kicks that year it seemed i think he as 6 of 15 of the top of my head. redeemed himself in the alamo bowl against michigan hitting 5 for 5.

that was not even the best A&M team of the early 90's much less ever

our schedule that year was not very good. The SWC was terrible. With the Ags ineligible like 4 teams tied for the SWC crown with 4 losses. Tech ended up going to the Cotton Bowl and USC beat em 55-14.
we had close wins over LSU, Tech, Rice, all were losing teams that year.

we found ways to win (somethign we failed to do in the years after) but 1994 was not flashy by any means

The lesson is, don't underestimate any opponent, not even SMU.

I hope the team understands this and minimizes 1st game mistakes and rolls over SMU.....

I was there in the stands drinking a bud light with my dad. The first Aggie game that we actually got to sit together. We ran out of receivers during the game due to injuries and an ejection. SMU played us tough in 1993, 1994 and 1995 as RC wanted to show them what smash mouth football was all about. They put 8 men in the box and stuffed our predictable offense.

I was there in the Alamodome--first Aggie game I remember vividly (was 6 years old). I remember thinking it was stupid for a football game to end in a tie.

I was in Dallas on a business trip from the State of Washington. Couldn't get to the game.

But the guy who checked me that Friday in was an SMU weenie who bragged about how bad they were going to beat us.

On Sunday, when I checked out, I sat in the lobby for maybe an hour until he went to the back to take a leak, I suspect. I then checked out and went to the airport. I didn't want to listen to his crap.

I hate SMU weenies. (And most other old SWC foes, too. They're all weenies.)
