Yeah, that ***got later wrote an article condemning fans for not supporting the team and not showing up to basketball games. He ended the season writing about what a great turn around sherman did and how we needed to have faith in him with no mention of his earlier calls for the man's job.

I ****ing hate that punk kid with every fiber of my being.

Pretty sure that we were all calling for Sherman's head after that one. I was barely hanging onto a thread of hope when this happened. My dad wanted him fired but I kept wanting JJ out, knowing that with the talent frannie left us, it doesnt take just 2-3 years to rebuild. Funny how people change opinions after 5-6 wins.

I was pretty high on the Mike Sherman hire. I was excited to see the team that almost kept tu out of the national title game in 2009 improve. The start of the season was rough and my dad was ready to see him go. I still supported Sherman, and hoped things would turn around and they did.

Most of us were thinking "something has got to give." I read this article coming from class on west campus, and i just thought, "not again" with the loss to mizzou.

I think we all were thinking what he wrote. But I could never actually bring myself to write an article that advocated firing someone.

There are PLENTY of posts from TexAgs after that game that said all that, and more. He was just willing to put his name to it - which I suppose is both a bold and silly thing to do.

Singling out a college student for writing an article strikes me as a similarly bad idea.

Unfortunately, this guy wasn't alone...

I, too, felt like it was time for Sherm to go and that he wouldn't get us "over the hump"....

Man, that crow was MIGHTY TASTY !!

People actually read the Batt?

We always just used it to clean the mirrors (or cover them up)

Lots of people called for Sherman's job after that game.

Most didn't issue a retraction!

David Harris is the biggest ****** bag I have ever met.

I seem to recall meltdown mode on Texags after that game as well. It was brutal. One of the few games I absolutely refuse to go back and watch in the archives. How many people can honestly say that they were Sherm supporters through and through after that abomination?

Sherman didn't make Jerrod's shoulder a shell of it's former self. The only mistake Sherman made was loving Jerrod like a son, if you consider that a mistake.

That's all fair and good to say TeLe, but that's not really what I asked. The only point I am making is that most Ags fully believed that we were going to sit through another terrible season hoping to sniff a bowl game. Take a look at that game again. Our defense sucked, our offense sucked, and (I don't fully remember but I'll wager) our special teams sucked. We sucked.

I think the turn around in both the team's play and attitude is a direct measure of Sherman's coaching ability. We sit here now looking forward to what we hope will be a special season. If you can honestly look back and say you were 100% behind Sherman after Mizzou then I give you mad props. I'm not ashamed that I wasn't behind Sherm since I had seen little that would lead me to believe otherwise.

So far it appears that I was mistaken. Personally, I'm glad to be wrong on that account.

The entire team wasn't fired up at all for the Mizzou game. Our defense in particular just didn't give any effort. Mizzou scored for the first time and Jerrod still looked like he couldn't complete a pass, the team just gave up. Even the crowd seemed lackluster for Kyle Field. Sure, the coachs are the ones on the payroll, and its their responsibility to get the player's fired up, but we cannot place that abomination of a game solely on Sherman's shoulders. Plus, it seemed like Sherman used that terrible performance as a catalyst to fire the team up and have them play with the passion and never quit attitude we saw the rest of the season. So all's well that end's well here folks.
