It would be hard for kyle to be in the top 2 in the sec as far as the stadium

You cant really beat
Neyland
Bryant denny
Lsu
The swamp
Samford

But I have never been to kyle sooooooo...
Child, please...

Kyle field is and will be top 3 with tiger stadium and the swamp. I have yet to visit Neyland, but i'm looking forward to it.

#1 gameday atmosphere according to SI. Top 20 international sports, #1college football venue according to business insider.

Yeah Kyle Field can really beat those stadiums you listed.

No rushing the field in the SEC, so make sure you guys do it against t.u.

The players urged the students that were on the track to join them on the field at the Nebraska game. The only students who rush the field at Kyle after a win are the freshman in the Corps (about 600) who grab the Yell Leaders to take them and throw them in what is called the Fish Pond across campus.

This is just one of hundreds of things that make Kyle Field unique.

I've been to Neyland several times, used to live in Knoxville. The stadium is cool, but the volume is not anywhere near Kyle...and I was at Tennessee games from 1997-99, when the Vols were incredibly good.

Ive seen dozens of games at kyle field, it is distant to lsu, florida, auburn, tennessee, and georgia. Its a great experience to see games there but get real - its not top 2 in sec. Be realistic.

two thoughts:

A) It seems like you would lose alot of noise with ur stadium being SO open like that
B) Those upperdecks look ungodly steep

Tacos... yeah we do, which is why all of us pretty much would like to see the south endzone closed in one day.

edit: on 2002 OU, IIRC, we almost broke a record for noise, but I can't find a link for that.

3rd decks seems really steep in photos, but don't really feel that way when you're on them. I'm terrified of heights and I'm fine at Kyle - I get nervous in Reed Arena's second deck.

Their steepness negates your argument about being open. the crowd is right over the field. The tacklebox is what hooks 'em.

and this was before the addition of the zone. A&M will probably be one of..if not the..loudest stadiums in the SEC.

Not a bad view from the 3rd deck. Check out the virtual tour on some A&M website.

All I can tell you for sure is that most people thing Nebraska is fanatical about their football. They are known as some of the most passionate fans and why shouldn't they be. When all you have around you is corn, what else is there to be passionate about? Anyway, my point is when we played Nebraska in 1998 I got tickets for my dad and I the day before the game. We showed up and sat in our end zone seats and had a blast. We were surrounded by several Nebraska fans. About halfway through the game they made the statement:

"We have visited a lot of stadiums and we thought we had something special in Nebraska, but what you guys have here is crazy. It's like nothing we have ever seen."

It's kind of like a special quote that we like to refer to when speaking of Aggieland in general - "from the outside looking in you can't understand it - from the inside looking out you can't explain it." You will have to visit Kyle and draw your own opinions. Certainly UT has a big stadium, but size isn't everything. We look forward to seeing all of the venues in the SEC and sharing our passion for the game of football with all of you!

I went to the swamp when I was in high school. Then I went to a game at Kyle. When you are at Kyle Field and the visitors ae going for it on 4th and 2, and you are scared for your life that the entire thing is about to collapse from everyone yelling at the top of their lungs and stomping their feet on the "wood". Uncomparable to anything I experienced at the swamp as far as loudness and energy. Its one of the few things in life that I;ve found to be literally bone chilling.

I cannot speak for all the SEC but I can say that Kyle > swamp. No question about it.

Can't wait to experience the SEC atmosphere. For big games, Kyle is incredible. For non-big games, that electricity isn't there. I expect SEC schedule will bring that electrifying atmosphere to more games and it will grow.

Add in the more rabid opponent fans, and I can't wait to see Kyle Field in SEC.

Cool. I have. Quite a few others too, actually. I'v been to West Va's, Clemsons, GTech, tu's, Kyle field north, and every SEC school. Only one I'd love to get to but haven't had the chance is FSU. I was at Auburn for 5 years. I've seen a lot of football, son.
I have quite a few friends at Tennessee, that doesn't change the fact that Neyland just doesn't get loud. That's from the mouth of many of my buddies there, and both my trips there.

CBS Sportsline listed Kyle Field as the nation's best with a perfect score in three categories (atmosphere, tradition, and fans).

Yobri looks like that guy isn't the only one that thinks so. Thanks and gig'em

Once all the renovations are done it will be top tier in the SEC...right now it is a fun, loud, intimidating and no frills structure!

The one factor everybody must keep in mind is the atmosphere really depends on if the team is having a good year. Not to say that Aggies are fair weather fans, but if you had to endure the Fran years like I did then there wasn't a whole lot to be overly excited for each game.

Now if you take a look at the end of the season last year when we went on a winning streak and were making excellent strides as a team, those games were absolutely electric and on par with anything else you will experience across the country!

I know everyone is bias bur I have been to neyland, the swamp, and lsu. To say neyland doesnt get loud is rediculous..it is as loud as lsu and florida. I have not been to kyle so I cant speak on that

I wad at the game when the formation of F-16s, all piloted by A&M former students, flew over Kyle Field at less than 1000 feet (now, this was pre-9/11/2001, so they don't do it this way any more...). All 4 F-16s hit their afterburners over the stadium. It blew out windows in the pressbox. Unbelievably loud.

Neyland can rock with what, the 105-106k they pack in there? It may be listed closer to 104 but I've been to a bama/tenn game and it rocked. It's not the fans, it's just built differently. LSU gets INCREDIBLY loud. Painfully loud. Bama also, but I'd say Kyle and Bama, with Neyland and the Swamp behind, all behind Deaf(th) Valley

Like Ragnar said though--just opinions, I think we are splitting hairs. And you've obviously been to a lot more Tennessee games than me, as a Vol.

Indeed. You cannot know the true potential of each stadium until you have been to each for a nationally significant game where both teams are top 15 or top 10 teams.

I've only been to Bryant Denny out of all the SEC fields and I was quite impressed. But until you have experienced the organized, methodical yells of Aggie fans in a very intense game, you really cannot understand it.

Rammer Jammer was cool. Rocky Top is in a class of it's own. But Aggie yells brings something to a game that no other university in the nation does.

I remember thinking while at Bryant Denny stadium that it was like a very very large high school football game, the way the fans cheered. I only thought this because I grew up going to Aggie games and was used to actually having to put in work as a fan with yells. I thought that's what all college football was like.

Im not trying to be a ***** because you seem like a good dude.

Neyland is totally enclosed and goes straight up(not like kyle but still) so how does noise ecsape

What game did you go to?

I think comparing is tough in the few games we all get out of our homes.

If you go to Kyle for a game against Sam Houston, then it might be a bit lame when we are way up. Same when seeing Florida versus Citadel.

Are we comparing top games? Maybe an important Cocktail party game versus an important tu-A&M matchup on Thanksgiving.

Or just middle of the road games. A&M versus a solid Baylor game or Florida versus an upstart Vandy.
( I only chose Florida as an example)

Who has the best worst game atmosphere? Who the best Big game day.
Its gonna be fun to find out first hand. But let's just say A&M will hold their own. The biggest flaw for SEC fans is the campus is dry and no chick cheerleaders. Though cheerleaders never did much for me. I always preferred the hot girl in the skimpy dress in the stands. Which we have plenty of.

Having been to LSU (obviously), the Swamp, and BDS, I would say Death Valley and The Swamp are in a league of their own as far as noise and intimidation.

BDS is right there. I went pre-expansion and the whole time I thought it was loud, but just felt like it was more calm (overall) when compared to LSU and Florida...the LSU-Florida game in '07 was epic...I didn't get my voice back for almost a week and woke up the next morning feeling like was hit by a mac truck from being so tense and screaming so much

I want all Ags to look at this pic, and remove the zone from your minds eye. That was only 13 years ago. Thank God we stacked a few more bricks because that's pathetic in hindsight.

The pressbox at Kyle sways between the third & fourth quarters.

I believe that the SID now includes a warning in the kit that they pass out.

I understand that one reporter had to leave during the War Hymn at that 1998 Nebraska game. One of the more veteran reporters looked up,and asked " First time, huh?"

1st photo below is Kyle currently. The second is an ambitious model of proposed upgrades after we join the sec (note the retractable roof...eat your heart out Vols):
