quote:
All of you people who equate seizing a market advantage in sports as the same as free enterprise business are idiots.
First of all, these are STATE SCHOOLS we are talking about. They have no free enterprise rights.
Was it "capitalist" of tu to hoard scholarship players? Was it "wealth redistribution" or "socialist" or "communist" for the NCAA to limit the number of scholarships to level the playing field?
The point of sports is for things to be settled on the field with the teams having as little outside variance as possible.
i've heard recruits really impressed with texas' and oregon's new facilities.
you know what? that's just not fair to iowa state and baylor who practically have to play in high school stadiums.
i say we share the wealth. we should immediately put construction into place to make sure every stadium in the ncaa have the same seating capacity. we will build seats into the baylors and iowa states of the world, and take seats away from texas, oregon, and atm.
heck. lets put in a salary cap! except, instead we can cap the profits of the football programs. i'm sure you will really like this because it will take the most away from bad ol "tu". we can cap the limit on football program profit, which will hurt teams like texas, oklahoma, and a&m, and spread the wealth around so that all teams will be able to have the same quality weight rooms, equipment, coaches, and assistants.
great solution.
