That is my prediction.

I've called two games in the last two weeks. I called A&M over OU http://texags.com/main/forum.reply.asp?topic_id=1722768&forum_id=5 and another underdog, unranked NW over over #13 Iowa http://texags.com/main/forum.reply.asp?topic_id=1730162&forum_id=5. NW was a double digit dog heading into that game.


With that said...

Following the Nebraska game there was a collective sigh. So much build up to that game and now it is over and the wind in our sails has evaporated. We know we are going to a great bowl and most are already thinking about the long layoff. The Ags are way too over-confident right now but they are going to get punched in the mouth by a team with nothing to lose on Thursday. texas has a serious defense. Not quite on Nebraska's level, but pretty close. Gilbert will have success with our one weakness on D, the intermediate pass. Expect a lot of Gilbert to Mike Davis action. Its hard to imagine A&M having a hard time getting up for tu but many things have come together to make it so. Primarily, the two teams' polar opposite seasons. A&M is on cloud nine after knocking off two top-ten teams. tu is reeling getting embarrassed at home by UCLA, ISU and Baylor. A&M will overlook this struggling texas squad.

This game will leave a sour taste in our mouth for the entire month of December. Enjoy the Nebraska win. As Robert Frost once said, nothing gold can stay.

Seriously though, I would be replaying that 1998 game over and over. Also, I would have the water turned off and DKR.

If it weren't for the fact it's a rivalry game, this would be a prime candidate for the "letdown game". Being still alive for the Big XII South title helps, but short week, road game, coming off an emotional home win, opposing team had a cupcake of a game. Yep, the warning signs are there.

It's Sherman's job to make sure this does not happen. But I would be awfully shocked if we somehow overlooked our most intense rival.

I expect us to play a lot better on offense. I thought the OL showed some serious athleticism in run blocking at times in the second half (Lewis especially). I bet we will run first from here on out.

Sherman (and the team) has been preaching that mentality all year long. I expect a dogfight, though, b/c the t-sips are wanting a bowl game.

Good coaches don't have teams that have emotional let-downs. It is up to Sherman again to prepare the team (mentally).

Horn here...not sure why you guys have so little confidence in your team. They played a hell of a game Saturday. They're playing on a big time level. They're adults. They know how to handle the emotion of a big win without letting it ruin them the next week.

The experienced fish can see the line. I think you need to go down to non-fluorescent 3000 lb test.

the sips have been watering down the field since yesterday. if the front gets here before the game, we may be playing on an ice rink. if the front does not get here before then, they will bring out the freeze machines. i don't think we pack skates. we lose big time.

We just won a big game in terms of the resurrection of this program. You really think the coaches players believe they have the luxury of a let down. For anyone to doubt these guys after what they have shown us this year is flat out chicken ****.

Northwestern had beaten Iowa 4 of the past 5 times they played, despite being underdogs. The game was in Chicago and Iowa hasn't played well on the road. I really wouldn't break my arm patting myself on the back over this one.

Despite tu screaming for the last decade that this isn't a rivalry game, it will be this year.

They have nothing to lose and the Ags have much more riding on a win here. Obviously not playing at home will be a big factor in this game, but hopefully all the t-shirt longhorn fans have left the building and their crowd is pretty pitiful, but I wouldn't count on that.

I pretty much think it will be a 50/50 game to go either way. I think for any chance of a big 12 title (which is a very very long shot), we need to win HUGE, and for OU to demolish OSU in Stillwater. Of course I'll be rooting for the good guys while stuffed to the brim with turkey.

It's logical to assume that. I agree. But here is the "X" factor-> Tannehill. Kid refuses to lose. Plain and simple. We may go in at half-time trailing. However, the Ags will wake up, make the adjustments, and play the second half like they did against Baylor- inspired defense with an inspired QB at the helm.

I knew the Ags would have their mettle tested after a big win against tTech followed by a big game against OU.

They passed the test.

I knew the character of the Ags would be tested again after a big win over OU followed by a big game against Baylor.

They passed the test.

I knew it was gut check time for the Ags after a big win against Baylor followed by a big game against Nebraska.

The passed the test.

All of these highly ranked opponents had a lot riding on the game, came loaded for bear and gave us their best shot. We beat them all.

Since Missouri, the Ags have passed every test. Why will they fail against unranked TexU?

A&M has no chance to win the South. Okie lite wins outright with a victory. OU will win the South based on BCS rankings if they win the game. They are already ahead of us and will move more so with a win. An A&M win over a 5-6 tu (if it happens) does nothing for us in terms of BCS rankings. We are playing for which bowl game we get.
