Saw another post asking how people would feel about finishing 6-6 and winning a bowl (7-6 overall.

I thought a team was required to have 6 wins over Div 1/FBS schools to be bowl eligible.

If thats the case, as one of our 3 wins is over SFA, doesn't that mean we need to go 4-2 just to climb into the toilet bowl?

I may be totally off base - wouldn't be the first time.

I believe you can count 1 win against fcs competition towards bowl eligibility.

You can count an FCS win now since there are now 70 (yes, 70) bowl spots to fill.

Rule: If we continue to suck it up, there will be no bowl game the year, next year, the year after and the so on. You get it.

You can only count one FCS win. Just ask K-State last season: 6-6 record, 2 wins against FCS opponents, taking a nice little vacation during bowl season.

The rule is 6. However, after the first few weeks of the season, they realized that there may not be enough 6 win teams to fill all the bowl games. The NCAA was supposedly considering a waiver this year if necessary to fill all the slots. This was a month ago, dont ask me where they stand now.

Hopefully they learn and get rid of some of the more repo bowls.

Alamo bowl moved up the pecking order and will now pit (I believe) #3 big 12 v #2 pac 10

So I wouldn't worry about a trip to San Antonio

A&M and Tech are probably playing for a slot in the Dallas Football Classic. The loser is not going to a bowl game.

I think the Texas Bowl would take Baylor if they get to 6 or 7 wins.

The conference may be getting only 1 BCS team this year.

Thank you for finally posting the correct information. A win against an FCS opponent DOES NOT count towards a bowl, but the NCAA realizes that the rule will not fill all of the bowl spots this year, since every team in FBS gets to go to a bowl now (yet we are still on the fringe of not getting a bid).

What? 1 fcs win can count toward the 6 total every other year (or every four years). If we use sfa this year to get to our 6, then we couldnt use an fcs win next year tiward our 6.

Whats funny is that in the last regular season game k state was playing for the right to go to the big xii ccg and a possible bcs bowl birth or go home until next year.
