Come on over to Gatorcountry we will talk academics with anyone. We can hold our own with anyone in most every department. So don't let the piggies worry you.

In the defense of the SEC, it has not held Florida back one bit. In the last 30 years UF has gone from just a land grant school to one of the premier public institution in America. UF get a 9 Scale on the federal research and development scoring system. The highest that a public institution can achieve.

Pigs. This is why you are viewed as backwards.

They don't make t-shirts or Sports Illustrated special commemorative packs for having good academics. Athletic championships will always be great achievements. But, come rubbing your trophies in our faces and you're likely to get something like this:

Alabama fan: "My Alma Mater won the national championship!"

Texas A&M fan: "That just means you went to Alabama."

Or, as we commonly have to do with t-shirt wearing teasip fans:
"We won the National Championship!"
"So you graduated from Alabama?"
"No . . "
"Attended?"
"No."
"Applied?"
" . . . "
"Donated money?"
"Well, I went to a game against Auburn once."
"Ok then." (Flashes A&M ring)

Get used to it. We love you all and we're excited to join the SEC. I look forward to many a good tailgate together. But we're a school with a football team, not the other way around.
