I hope DG-Ag has it right, but I highly doubt both Alabama and Florida lose prior to then so as to the OP UT won't be No. 1.

t.u. can come in #3 and it wouldn't matter. Alabama and Florida would still have to play each other in the SEC championship. 11-0 is all that the sips need to worry about.

They have to get past Ok-lite first. If they do that then they'll be #1 or #2.

Them being number 1 coming into Kyle really doesn't do much for us even if we beat them unless we win all of the rest of our games. Then we would have a chance to be ranked really high. Otherwise, I don't think we would even get a fart from the voters.

Agreed. The more they lose, the less confidence they'll have in Mack Brown. Get rid of Mack Brown and hope Muschamp is a flop.

Even then, sport, we would be lucky to be in the top 25. No "high" ranking for us for a while to come.

Guys we need the horns to lose to OSU and OSU to to lose to Tech, Oklahoma and one other. If that doesn't happen, then I hope Texas wins until they get to Kyle.

If they take care of Oklahoma State (Cart will figure out a way, somehow!) then yes they'll be undefeated. I don't see Florida losing though.

This game is setting up for the perfect storm of an upset. Bonfire, overly ranked sips, our team starting to come together, a rivalry game, etc.

It's all setting up perfectly except that they are way better than us.

Seriously, I am cautiously optimistic about our chances to be competitive and play above our heads, but lets not overlook the glaring problems our team has. You are setting yourselves up for disappointment if you spend the next few weeks convincing yourselves we are going to beat them.

I just want to beat ISU this weekend. Can we do that first?

The long-term impact of this scenario: tu coming into Kyle undefeated (no matter the ranking) and getting blown up by a young fired-up Aggie team on a win streak, would be incredible.

Subjective rankings are largely irrelevant to our program right now, so it matters not whether t.u. is ranked 1 or 3 or 5. Despite their recent under-performances, it's unlikely that Ala or Fla will drop one on the way out, and the Ala vs. Fla SEC Championship/semi-finals won't go down until after Thanksgiving Day, so t.u. probably won't climb any higher. Suit yourselves, but I'll refrain from wasting the days speculating on game outcomes and inherently screwed-up rankings/BCS system.

What matters most, and what all of Aggie-dom should be excited about, is the potential opportunity to soil everything the sips have worked so hard for, should that opportunity come to pass. Let the wins, losses, and rankings fall where they may - I'll take ruining t.u.'s season anyday.

Agreed Domain. Beat a mediocre Tech team and show almost no defensive improvement and all of a sudden we're Big 12 world beaters. Just last week everyone was ready to close down all the old university traditions because our football team sucked. Whatever the case, it is fun to watch!

The question is, would losing to us dash their hopes of playing in Pasadena? Florida and Bama will most likely play in the SEC Championship, and will probably not be picked to play one another again for the title. Even if we beat them, tu probably has the best shot at winning the South, holding the 1st tie breaker over OU. The question becomes; what 1 loss team jumps ahead of a 1 loss tu and their media love fest.

Or we could have the cluster**** of 1 loss tu, OU, and tOSU in the South. In that case, would tOSU winning Bedlam jump them over tu losing to us?
