I think his statement was more about the hokies feeling good about shutting down a great team like A&M as opposed to trying to rub it in.

The history of the "lunch pail" that is referenced in the article is that we like to have a blue collar, workman like attitude for our defense. The lunch pail is brought out by the defense to every game, and a little piece of the turf is taken with it after the game.

Its like grabbing some sand when you leave the beach to remember your trip, to remember what it took to perform like that, and to inspire to do it again...

That being said, I go to all the VT games, home and away, and without a doubt your fans were the best that we have come across. Everybody was great both before and after the game. Sure there was some good natured trash talking the night before the game, but I didn't come away with one bad thing about A&M.

I don't care about any Lunch pail tradition that VTECH has. They can do what they want to other teams fields, but Not Kyle. It is a sign of disrespect and I am steamed. Our players should use this as motivation for the rest of the year and If I was a player I would buy up a enough lunch pails for everyone on the team before next years vtech game and bring them down to blacksburg as motivation.

Wait, I am trying to understand this. You say that when A&M plays its fight song, or alma mater song, everyone is supposed to be quiet? And this is as intros are about to happen? If I understand that right, my guess is either Tech didn't know that or didn't know it was going on. There was a little matter of a big game to play ... Believe me, if any college football program is worthy of respect because it does things the right way, it is VT and Frank Beamer.

Its one of the few traditions that we VT have. Its was a small piece of GRASS. I appologize if it upset you, but thats what insurance is for.

LOADED-get a life. VT was the better team Saturday. Get over it. We will have a chance to pick up some TURF next year. Their QB was the difference, he had a great game. VT fan's were very nice and I would like to pay them every year. At least their fan's aren't as classless as LSU.

I hear Aggies complaining that Tech cheered during their fight song. I know this happens at a lot of schools, just because some students anywhere are such *******s these days.

But, A&M is not in the clear... I know every time A&M has come up here to play Tech, they've hooted and hollared through everything except the national anthem.
