"Maybe I was too close to home," said Gamso, who lives about two minutes from SMU campus.

Total stud at QB. Only reason he wasn't a big time prospect was because he was the backup behind a kid that was slotted to start since 7th grade. Check out his stats, check out his videos, he's the real deal. Bama and Tennessee seem to be really interested.

I've heard about this kid, he's known for his discipline and has quite the cannon. I'm interested to see where he ends up, I know Sherman could really use him.

I don't get too excited about the possibility of getting someone else's walk-on quarterback, especially if that team is not considered a powerhouse.

He out played Gilbert last year in the State game. I was really impressed with this kid when I watched the game. Even though Lake Travis won the game he was the better Qb on the field that day and Gilbert is ranked the #1 QB in the State of Texas and top 5 in the Country.

Nothing against this young man, but surely a SMU walkon transfering to A&M is not a good sign for recruiting or the state of our football program

Hope he decides to transfer here - he will start if he does.

If not, I've heard that Louisiana Lafayette has a 3rd string QB who might be thinking of transferring - maybe he'll give us a look.

he was the number 2 qb half way through the season until their other guy got hurt, his numbers could have been a little better

The only reason he was a walk-on at SMU is because most schools have their recruiting classes locked up by the time he was starting for Highland Park. He's got a really strong arm and a great head on his shoulders. Aside from Jerrod, who do we really have at quarterback? Gamso is better than Dorman, this would be a great pick up.

BurnetAG- I was at that game as well. On the final drive of the game Gamso was driving them down the field about to beat Lake Travis when a freshman WR dropped a very catchable 4 or 5 yard pass on 4th down at about the Lake Travis 20 yard line. Damn good game....

I understand what you're saying, but I don't think image is something we should be concerned with right now. All we should be concerned with at this point is what it takes to win, so if this kid can come in and win games, who cares what it looks like to everyone else.
