Is it true the John David Crow is the only Heisman Trophy Winner that Bear Bryant coached? I work with an Alabama Fan and I want to play a little stump the chump. Somewhere along the line I remember hearing that JDC was the only guy that Bryant coached to ever win the Heisman. I am hoping this is indeed true, but since I am not sure I am asking the experts. Anyone know?

He was also the only player Bear addressed by their first name.

Plus, Bear said if John David didn't win it, they should stop giving the award.

sorry to take this thread off topic, but the other day i read something where lsu's star player of the late 50's billy cannon has a son who played lineback at a&m in the early 80's.

1st round draft pick by Dallas. Never played a down in the NFL because of a neck injury, however. Great athlete that played like 3 different positions while at A&M.
