Sounds like our QB recruit back in '91. He is the right age.

likely is the same one...Preston graduated from Consol in 1991 which would put him about 35 years old
he has had several run in with the law

dont know him personally but obviously he does not have his life in order...but he was a hell of a QB for Consol.
Preston and Clif Groce led Consol to a 14-1 season's in 1989 and 1990.losing the State title game in '89 14-0 to Tyler Chapel Hill in the astrodome and then spent the entire '90 season ranked #1 in the state untill Westlake beat the Tigers 24-14 at Kyle Field in the state semifinals
both Groce and Preston went to A&M...Groce went on to have a succesful career in Aggieland and made a quick stop in the NFL...I dont know if he left or was kicked out of A&M but Preston ended up at SHSU where he was released from the football team for repeated posession charges

I remember that he was the pre-Reggie hyped athletic quarterback. In the first game of the 92 season he, Granger, and Pullig were both suited up. I don't remember if he played or not but he was on the sideline suited up.

He'll say Howdy when I go visit him at the jail and ask him what his deal is!!!

That is him. His dad is/was a Sheriff's Deputy for Brazos County.

Watson was the QB on the State title team...in '91
Preston's last year was '90...lost in state title game in '89 and semifinals in '90

That is Tommy from AMC and it is a shame. I played ball with him at Consol and knew him to be a decent guy. We had a copule of thugs on the team but he wasn't one of them. Cliff Groce was (and I guess still is) a good guy too. They sure were talented athletes.

He could. I played with him. He was accurate too. And he was a really nice dude to us younger guys. I used to warm up with him in practice. He had no reason to be nice to me, but he was.

This thread makes me really sad.

I played against him in little league, and he threw a kid out at 3rd from far right field. I remember that as being the first time I was ever awestruck by such refined athletic ability of someone my own age. Several kids could hit home runs, but Tommy throwing ability was on another level.

Might be the weirdest bump Ive ever seen on Texags.
