A country boy like Hank Hill would definitely be an Aggie fan.

I think it illustrates that if you didn't go to college or have any affiliation with a particular school and live in Texas, you are probably a casual at best tu fan, after all, they are cattle.

I did like when he is actually at the game before going to the suite all he does is criticize their playing.

One of the few King eps I'll pass on.

Not football related, but did anybody ever notice when Bobby's baseball picture appears in the background that his hands are backwards. Greatness! I LOL every time.

As a recall, there was an episode where Peggy is looking at an old newspaper clipping and says something to the effect of: "They may have beat the Aggies that year...but they couldn't beat that train".

Have no idea what she was describing, but I'm pretty sure the Aggies were mentioned.

There's also the episode where Hank takes his mother and some of her friend to Padre for a trinket trip in the middle of spring break and sits in a bar full of aggies and longhorns.

Mike Judge, the creator of the show, lives in Austin.
He's shot Office Space and Idiocracy here.

Every now and then there are similarities between Arlen and Austin...

Great show. Funny that an animated series would have one of the more accurate portrayals of family life in the US. Most of our sitcoms on the other hand are silly and cartoon like.

"Arlen" is based upon Garland, a suburb of Dallas, where Mike Judge grew up.

I think "Arlen" is a composition of all the Texas towns he has lived in including Abilene from his days at ACU.

Being originally from Abilene, I can tell you there are people exactly like the characters on his show living there.

Part of Office Space was shot in Dallas.

Hank Hill is a spin off from Bevis & Butthead. If I remember correctly B&B were based on kids he know while living in a dumpy apartment in or near Dallas.

There was a freeway sequence early in Office Space that was shot in Dallas, the rest of the film shot in Austin.

I think Arlen probably is a composite of Texas towns.

Do y'all think Friday Night Lights captured Texas well?

Mike Judge grew up in Albuquerque. I always thought he went to Highland High because Beavis and Butthead's high school is named Highland, but Wikipedia says it was St. Pius X.

That makes two of us, except I don't live in Garland anymore.

The episode where Peggy says "the beat the aggies but they couldn't beat that train" must be a few years old.

There's a character that looks and sounds just like Hank hill in Beavis and butthead
CNN is an enemy of the state and should be treated as such.
