Squadron 16 must have a nwere version or a different version than we used when I was in the Corps (I do like their version though). I don't remember all of it but here is what I do...

I think down thru the years the version has changed considerably. But, the basic thought is still there, that the Aggie fish, no matter how low, is still unbelievably higher than the highest t.u. honor graduate.

Not trying to stir anything up here, just an honest question that I never asked while in school.

Why is it that the band members, and apparently drum majors in particular, are so looked down upon from within the Corps? For some, if not most, non-regs, the band is one of the best parts of the Corps. I assume the answer is that a lot of people only join the Corps so that they can be in the band versus joining for other reasons. Is that close?

It's really more of a fun rivalry kind of thing than hatred....atleast by the time you're a junior or senior.

When you are a fish you are told to hate the band because they never do any PT, they're all fat, eat all the doughnuts in Duncan and all carry a brief case.

Like I said, by the time you're an upper-classman you realize that these things are somewhat true, but you also have several buddies in the band and it's more of a fun thing. It's a deal where you make fun of each other on the quad and on campus but if anybody from another school talks trash about the band you are ready to fight.
