Rome is an ignorant piece of trash...I can't stand Fran and want him gone ASAP, but Rome has consistently used his show to insult Texas A&M and the Aggies. As far as I'm concerned, Rome has no room to criticize anyone, and the day ESPN yanks his show from the airwaves will be a wonderful day!

Classic. That sounds just about right for Rome, jumping on a 5 week old story. Has to make sure public sentiment has been clearly defined before he tags along.

I listen to Rome on occasion, so I know what I'm talking about. Perhaps, I should have phrased my comment more clearly. I apologize for that. I should have said that whenever he talks about A&M, he insults us. He even talked trash about the Bonfire tragedy. I understand that sports' writers, commentators, etc. need to have strong opinions and that I won't always agree. I'm fine with that. Rome, however, always insults us and often makes uneducated, hate-filled comments. That is why Rome is the only sports guy I can't stand. I don't mind all of the others...

Rome is a piece of cr*p that thinks he knows it all. Just remember how this piece of garbage got his start, by continually calling Jim Everett "Chrissy" after Everett asked him to knock it off. Rome is pure toilet filler, that is all. It doesn't matter that the U.S. is filled with a bunch of jack*sses that adore him, after all, just look at all the cr*p on TV that is so popular. Fran is an easy target and much has already been written to denigrate his tenure at A&M.

He's piling on. This story is yesterday's news. Per usual, Rome comes-up a little "short".

i didn't know that. i usually don't post or keep up with the boards because i'm at work...at home sick today, so...

i'm happy he didn't say that about bonfire and apologize for my mistake. that said, i still don't like his attitude. he just bothers me. i think he goes too far in his insults of not only A&M but others as well. he may have shown us some support during bb season but that just doesn't make up for his normal behavior.

in any event, i can't wait till we get a new coach and start winning big time, so no sports guy will be able to torch us too bad!

The couple of times that I have listened to Rome, I thought he came across as an annoying little dork-boy, trying to be cool.

But the worst thing about that "show" is the listeners that call in and proceed to READ FROM A PIECE OF PAPER all of the cool and witty things that they have actually taken the time to WRITE DOWN AT THEIR HOME (or more likely at their mom's home).
The first time I heard one of those I felt so bad for the guy. Then the next one did it too, then the next one etc and I realized that is the "thing" to do on that show I guess.

I was laughing so hard I almost had to pull the car over - no, Big Mike in Toldeo or wherever the hell, you do NOT sound cool - you sound like a guy who was always picked last for warball in junior high.

Oh, and I like how they all ended with "I am OUT of here" or something like that. Yeah, badass, I picture you hanging up and then turning to mom in the kitchen and saying "did you hear me? Hey, what's for dinner?".

I don't usually listen to rome especially back in the 90's.

He ripped us to shreds about the 12th man issue with Seattle. Called us a bunch of rednecks who basically had sex with each other after we score a touchdown. Rome is an ignorant ******* and says stuff without having any clue about what the issue is.

I think it's funny that no one who is rattling off radio shows has even bothered to list a single SPORTS show.

Rome has the most popular SPORTS talk in the USA I'm guessing.

I'm also guessing that's why he pulls the top athletes for interviews.
