I've been a big fan of the History Underground YouTube channel for a few years now, and know that he has backing from the Gettysburg Museum of History.
About two years ago, I was in Gettysburg walking around town and literally stumbled upon the Gettysburg Museum of History and decided to tour the museum I had seen on YouTube.
Walking in, the girl behind the counter said "welcome in, the museum is free to tour, but everything you see is for sale".
Literally everything in there.
I'm a pretty big fan of history, especially military history and would like to own historic military artifacts, I haven't really dabbled in purchasing these kinds of items. But, I was caught off guard by "everything is for sale".
I guess my naive question is, how many items in that museum do you think are actually legit? They had everything in that museum from bullets fired in the battle of Gettysburg, to JFK's boxers, Dick Winter's uniform, and a section of blood stained fabric that they claim is from the sofa in the bunker where Hitler killed himself.
