The book is here!

Thanks in part to the Texags.com history forum, where I have posted since 2005. Y'all helped me realize I was in the wrong business and I decided to go back and earn an advanced degree in history. While I'm not making a living doing it yet, I'm having fun and hopefully reshaping how future generations will see Texas history.



As you can see, it's not a small book. Jam-packed with all-new research, and 1,300 footnotes.


The book can be ordered at TAMU Press here or Amazon here. Either works for me, but if you buy from Amazon, you can put a review on their site. I'm currently the No. 1 New book in the "War of 1812" category. I'll need word of mouth to move up in other ones.

Thanks all for buying. If you can't afford it, reach out to your public library and request they buy it. Actually, even if you can afford it, do that.

Also, if you bought on Amazon, you can put a review there. I already have one, and it's a 5 star. Not anyone I know personally.

If anyone wants a signature, I'm going to start doing events soon. I've got a FB author page, go search by my full name (including middle) and find me there. I will post events as they come up, and if you see one near you, come by and I'll sign a book. Some will be groups closed to members, but I'll specifically note any open to the public.

Reading my copy here in Santa Fe, NM


Funny reading about Lt Pike getting arrested when he got here, and others. This is a long way from Nacodoches.

On a side note, Santa Fe may be claimed by Texas (I are one), but Santa Fe doesn't recognize Texas at all. "No government was ever installed here", they say. They say only 4 flags have flown over Santa Fe: Spanish, Mexican, Confederate for a month or two, and then the United States.

Yes, Texas claiming Santa Fe is like Argentina claiming the Falklands, even though they never really owned it. The locals are like, "Ay! Piss off!"
