Looking for recommendations for a fictional book or book series on a speculative war with China or Russia. Any good ones?

I have not read anything current. There are some old classics like Red Storm Rising, Team Yankee and Third World War by Hackett (it is very old)

David Poyer's "Dan Lenson" series covers a postulated modern war with China in books 15-20. I thought he did a pretty good job with it. The whole series is well worth a read.

Peter Nealen's "Maelstrom Rising" series (8 books so far, 9th and final on the way) is a grunt's eye view of a war with China.
Clancy's "The Bear and the Dragon" is also good.
