btw, I highly recommend reading Two Sides of the Moon, co-written by Mr. Leonov and astronaut David Scott (Gemini 8 pilot and Apollo 15 commander), for two different views of the 1960s space race between the US and the Soviet Union, and their work leading up to the 1975 Apollo-Soyuz Test Project.

Nice coincidence that he passed while they were performing an EVA on the ISS to replace some batteries.
A bunch of international astronauts had really nice things to say about him on social media. They even officially acknowledged him while still in suit.

In his memoir, The Last Man on the Moon, the late Gene Cernan referred to Leonov as "the gutsiest man alive" for doing that spacewalk ...
