In 1944 Jim Radford was a 15 year old galley boy serving in the Merchant Navy aboard the Deep Sea Tug "Empire Larch". On the morning of June 6th his first deep sea trip took him to the Normandy Coast to help build the Mulberry Harbor. 25 years later he returned to find children playing and building sandcastles where soldiers once died. It was a scene that brought him to tears. This is his story.
