Except it probably never happened. Shakespeare was a propagandist by necessity. In order to be allowed to show his plays, he had to stick to an approved Elizabethan narrative, which meant making some people out to be heroes and others to be villains. His history isn't wrong, so much as invented in this case.

In the case of his Wars of the Roses plays, he's clearly making out the good guys and bad guys as the Elizabethans wanted them to be seen.

Next you're going to tell me Julius Caesar didn't say Et tu Brute after being stabbed.

Suffice to say that a ton of what we know as history is truly "a bunch of lies agreed upon".

What isn't up for debate is that Henry V was a man of immense intelligence, charisma and personal courage. Shakespeare's brilliant and timeless speech probably pales in comparison to the real thing.

What is fascinating is that Shakespeare didn't end after Agincourt. He showed Henry struggling to find the path forward and making mistakes.

So you are saying Shakespeare Tudored Henry the V?

Except historians don't accept Sir Bill as history. Hence it isn't lies previously agreed upon...although popular memory or myths might be.
