Never knew about this. Short, good read.

Don't feel like clicking the link? Basically Ross Perot had 2 employees captured well before the Embassy takevoer. He was pissed and was almost willing to pay their 12 million dollar bail but took a different route. He hired mercenaries and came up with a plan to storm the prison and free them. They ended up instead of just paying someone to cause a riot that resulted in a bunch of prisoners escaping, and the mercenaries got the two guys and snuck out of the country, negotiating their way through small towns in 2 Land Rovers till they got to Turkey.

Pat Sculley is a bad ass. Knew him as father of a high school classmate/fellow Cav Jock. Soft spoken, Hooah guy. Good book. Book is awesome read - https://www.amazon.com/Wings-Eagles-Ken-Follett/dp/0451163532

I heard about it because a TV movie was made about it in 1986. Richard Crenna, a favorite actor of mine, played Perot.
