I think I'm gonna hit up Beutel tomorrow anyways, but I wanted to see what you guys think this is... I've got this rash on the outside of my right knee. Its a red bumpy ring about the size of a quarter with a smaller ring inside it. I have a feeling it's ringworm after researching on the net, so I've been keeping it covered with antibiotic ointment, but it doesn't itch or burn or hurt in any way.

Disregard the red spots on the front of my knee - those are newly healed burn scars from a burn a little over a month ago.

it doesn't look like any case of ringworm that I've seen, but then I've only seen a few and I'm sure it can look different in different people. I'd be interested to know what it is when you find out!

If it is in fact ring worm you should use an anti-fungal, like for athletes foot.

It almost looks like a "C". Would be kinda cool if my name or my bf's name started with C.

I know the fungus that causes is it is closely related to the one that causes athlete's foot and I think psoriasis. I just want to make sure it's actually ringworm! I'll be making an appointment at Beutel just in case, but they may just tell me I'm pregnant and to lay down for a few weeks.

They'll tell you you're pregnant and give you a prescription for amoxicillin.

I've only seen ringworm on a few people, and while that's initially what I thought it was for you, I have no clue. My friends' ringworm was mainly quarter to half dollar sized slightly inflammed rings on arms and such. Yours looks a bit more irritated... but perhaps that could be from the fact that it is on your leg and maybe you were wearing jeans.

Again, I have no idea... so this probably doesn't help you at all. Actually, just wanted to say hi. Hope it goes OK tomorrow.

That's what I was thinking. Those are doctors only by a technical sense. I once went in with a broken foot (obvious from the X-rays and symptoms). The doctor told me it was a sprain until I pointed to the fracture on the X-ray image.

For those of you who were interested, it was indeed ringworm. Fastest doctor's appointment ever - I parked at 2:37 was getting back in the truck at 2:51. I was out of there before my actual scheduled appointment time (3).

me: "Is this ringworm?"
dr: "Yes that's ringworm."
me: "where do you think I got it from?"
dr: "anywhere. put lamisil on it for ten days."
me: "kthxbai."
