What is your go-to brand post run/work-out? I tried a friend's Ghost Sonic hydration packet and thought it was okay. I need to start drinking more...TIA

I use Transparent Labs and don't have any complaints. Does it help me at all? No clue but my wife and kids like the Raspberry Lemonade flavor too so it can't be that bad.

I use Skratch and Tailwind when I work out. I don't really drink any when I'm not working out. I get plenty of salt in my diet.

I'm generally not a big fan of the way those drinks taste so I've just been getting electrolyte pills from Amazon and take them with a bunch of water.

SALTT (that's the brand name). I did LMNT for a long time and then Amazon was out or something, so I ordered the SALTT as a recommended substitution. I like them just as much and they're about half the cost of LMNT.

i take most of my electrolytes during exercise (Tailwind usually), but if I do something post run/ride, I'll usually do Liquid IV. If i'm especially low, I'll do Waterboy, but the taste isn't my favorite.

Tailwind. I tried LMNT but it was too salty for me.

I just make my own when I need it. Table salt, potassium salt, and a magnesium tablet. But I'm not a real athlete.

I've been using LMNT citrus flavor for awhile now. My diet (mostly keto) keeps the sodium low, so LMNT 8s a good addition to my daily routine. I usually have one in the evening after dinner.

Hammer Nutrition out of Whitefish, Montana. They's been around over 30 years and have great all-around products. I especially like their Heed electrolyte (orange flavor) for strenuous workouts and their Recoverite for post workout recovery. Their Perpetuem is good for really long training sessions or bike rides (over 3 hours) but it's a little too chalky tasting which is why I start with Heed and finish with Perpetuem for long century bike rides.

I take two of these before and after the gym and before and after rides. If it's a longer ride (50+ miles) with a break at home I'll take two during that break. I only consume them in liquid form during a cycling event when I can't really carry these in a pocket. Then I just drink whatever the ride has at the support stations.

Here's the product that I commercialized. Let me know if you'd like some.

I sell it in a tub. About half the price of LMNT. Watermelon-flavored. We really nailed the taste. I'm a chemist, so the logo is the colors of sodium, potassium, and magnesium flame tests. My son and I developed it for endurance athletes and other Texans in summer

Not yet. We tested lime and sour apple, but the watermelon was by far the favorite. It's all about hiding the salt and keeping the sugar out.

I make my own when I can. Coarse ground salt, lime juice, maple syrup or honey and water.

But I also run with Salt stick capsules and Body Armor powder when I'm not able mix/take my own.
Consistency: It's only a virtue if you're not a screw-up.

I'll ship. Just send me your address over Messenger. $55 total for 2 cans, shipped. Just add $22/can if you want more. 30 servings per can.

If you don't use Messenger, run.it.back.electro at the google.

Thank you to my new customers! Hope you enjoy the product. If anybody has a running club or a construction crew, etc., one tub will make 4 gallons, but you can dilute to 5 or 6 gallons.

PSA...my electrolytes are like any other powdered drink and may chunk up a bit. Just give the can a good shake. I don't add any vitamins or caffeine, which minimizes moisture and oxidation, but Houston is still Houston. I've bricked unopened cans of Gatorade in Galveston, but Houston is the next worst thing. Once you open the canister, I doubt the silica insert does much good.

Glad to hear that! I realized I could never go into sales because there are so few products I believe in. This is one of them, and it's mine!

Add me to the list of people trying 94chem's product.

I toss 2 scoops + a scoop of creatine into my morning hydration jug that I drink otw to training sessions.

Thanks 94!

That is interesting, mixing with creatine. When I switched from distance to sprinting, I mixed in a lot of push-ups, shorter intervals, and began using creatine. When I began distance running, I lost about 15 lbs over 2 years and got back to almost my freshman weight at A&M. Since switching to track, I've put 15 lbs back on, but it's different. Yes, there's a little dad weight, but the pants still fit. With some AI help, I guess the weight is about 1/3 muscle, 1/3 fat, and 1/3 water retention. Which leads me to...you are combining 2 ingredients that promote water retention. Is this part of an IMF system, or are you replacing what you lose during sweating? And are you getting enough water too?

I'm curious because I use both products too, just not together. And I'm also wondering if I might be able to use my product to hide other supplements, like the horrible taste of beets or ashwagandha.

I usually dump a scoop of creatine into my morning coffee. The heat of the coffee will dissolve the creatine, and there isn't enough caffeine in a single serving to be concerned about canceling out the benefits. One lone study lead to the theory of splitting creatine and caffeine, but the caffeine dose in the study was really freaking high. 340mg for a 150lb person. One cup of coffee is around 100mg .

All to say...I don't worry about combining creatine and coffee.

But on the days I forget to add my scoop to my coffee cup, I'll just toss it into my hydration jug with some electrolytes, simply as a way to get my daily creatine intake. That jug gets filled 2-4X a day depending on how often I train, so I don't have to worry about dissolving the creatine. It will eventually be consumed.

Not using creatine as part of any specific protocol. Just using for the body and brain benefits. Seems like there is enough good information out there to show that, regardless of your activity level or athletic endeavors, creatine should be part of everyones daily intake.

I typically use nuun tablets. I tried some LMNT recently and I'm not sure I need that much sodium for my workouts, but I really likes the Lime flavor.

94Chem - I'm going to put in an order to try some of your stuff!
