Never heard of this. Highly intrigued. Looks like a Whoop without the sub? If so, they are going to pummel those guys.

The only con I'm seeing with my brief research is that you are tracking workouts elsewhere. IOW, I'm currently using my Garmin watch to do all of this plus track workouts so this would replace that but then I would need to track workouts elsewhere. The Hume would track the activity through what they call Strain:
Quote:

Strain Definition: A measurable instance of metabolic stress that draws from your daily capacity. The Hume Band tracks two categories of strain: Positive Strain: Beneficial stress that drives adaptation, primarily exercise and physical activity.

The system distinguishes different strain types: muscular (strength training), cardiovascular (aerobic activity), and mental (cognitive demands).

Negative Strain: Non-beneficial stress that depletes capacity without adaptive benefit, primarily psychological stress. The band detects stress by identifying elevated heart rate and compressed HRV in the absence of physical movement.

I dug into this a few weeks ago when it showed up as a YouTube ad. From various sources it seems not quite ready for prime time as far as accuracy goes. It is something I plan to check back on as they upgrade it.

Anyone done any more research on this? Hume band 2.0 has been released. Interested to know if anyone has tried it and what their results were.

I'm still following this one. The reviews I've read for 2.0 are pretty good. It will sometimes not be accurate like almost every other fitness tracker out there. Seems like a great option if you want to save a wrist for a real watch and not have another sub on the books.

Well, that's new. And for $200 I'm willing to take a flyer on that since I'm already heavily in the Garmin ecosystem.

I paid for the Pangenea ring with DNA test. It is an interesting concept and I'll start a new post about it once I use it for a good month or so.

Yes, this is why I keep exploring non-watch trackers. I have nice watches I would rather wear when out on town.

You are the worst.

But I get it. I get disgusted with myself when I leave home with my Garmin on and not one of those.

Did a deeper dive on this yesterday on Garmin forums. Like most things it had some major SW flaws at the outset. Looks like some of that has been resolved with a recent update, but some still reporting it has a major sleep bug in it still hanging out there.

Also, order lead time is 5-8 weeks just to get one which is crazy.

Scratch above. I found a Cirqa at REI today.

However, so far it doesn't work. It's not recording any passive data at all, and I have everything set up correctly and connected. I was able to record a workout just fine, but nothing else is tracking.

Will see what Garmin says, but I may be returning it in next day or two if it doesn't get resolved.

I just ordered a Fitbit google air. Should arrive tomorrow. Only $99 and no subscription required. Reviews sound decent. I want something to give me feedback on my sleep patterns and my Apple Watch doesn't last 24 hours without charging so it's not the best option for sleep and daily wear but hopefully this will cover all the bases.

Cirqa Band now working. I reset it to default settings, unpaired and repaired with iPhone and now it's working fine. Will report back in a few days but initial impressions are that I like it so far. I've only done one workout but I liked not having to worry about inputting/editing reps and weight on my watch during workout. I've been simultaneously using the Strong app and Garmin watch to do this up until now. So now I'm just tracking exact exercises, reps and weight in Strong only.

Downside of that is you don't have that level of detail in Garmin by switching to Cirqa unless you retroactively enter all of that after the workout. That's a PITA and not feasible. So, next steps are that if I end up liking this band a lot I would kill Strong and switch to Garmin Connect+ sub which lets you update reps and weight in real-time on Garmin App. That would immerse me 100% into one ecosystem which is the ultimate goal here if it works well. And Connect+ would add food tracking and a less great version of AllTrails as well.

Just checking in on Cirqa Band. It's working well. I hardly notice it after I slightly loosened it. My sleep scores are noticeably better than what I was scoring with my Oura 4 in the past. I think it's more accurate and I don't notice it like I did with my Oura 4.

It auto detected the walks I take. I kick off strength training workouts on my own with push of a button. I think this may be my permanent fitness tracker. Only thing I don't like is that it is a little large. I suspect the next iteration will have a smaller form factor.

Pangena is pretty incredible. Here are screen shots from today just as an example where it ties monitoring to my DNA results. It is not as useful as Garmin for pace tracking and such but I'm fairly static in that regard anyway.
