The last 8 weeks have been about the weirdest 8 weeks of my "health life" thus far, and it's seemingly continuing on.
I can't pinpoint any event that would have triggered an injury to my tailbone or pelvic region.
Have had weird symptoms in my pelvic region - the perineum as I've come to know it - and the tip of "little Johnny". The first "symptom" was swamp A$$ that turned into itching, and then progressed to more weirdness. The other symptoms are like a weird sensation at the top of my tailbone, or just below it. It's more prevalent when sitting, for sure. The pain level's like a 1 or 2. It doesn't affect me much physically; just mentally, because it's almost always there. The symptoms don't completely go away when I stand up, but they're better.
Went to regular doc, and he suspected some bacterial infection and/or epidydymis (wasn't this). Took meds, but most symptoms remained. Urine test was good - showed no bacteria. He referred me to the urologist.
Went to urologist, and he adamantly told me it was prostatitis because of the "little Johnny" pain. Been on "Bactrum" for 28+ days now, and the only pain that's really subsided is the tip of "little Johnny" sensation. It's more a dullness, if I feel anything at all.
The urologist wants me to do another 14 days of antibiotics.
I've also seen a physical therapist, and those stretches have helped, but the weirdness in that region has persisted. I now have a weird ache/coldness that appears from time to time in my right foot.
I feel fine when lifting objects; just got finished doing some yard work over the last week or so that involved handling rock, dirt, etc...in and around my yard. No real discomfort while doing those tasks.
AI tells me it could be prostatitis, chronic pelvic pain syndrome, and a number of other things.
I'm in my early 40's. What are your guys' next steps, if you're in my shoes. You finishing out these antibiotics, or requesting a different exam with gastro, urology, etc...?
