Planning to do the Waco 70.3 in October and just wanted to check here while I am also browsing marketplace for a second hand bike. Looking for size 54.

Try and get an all carbon frame. Tire pressure will be important too. Waco has sections of rough chip seal when you cross the county line on 77 South. It will get rough on your body, specifically your back, if your set up can't absorb the vibration.

I have a 2018 Felt IA10 in 54. Can work on posting some picks if you'd have some interest.

Damn, too bad you said 54. I have a size 58 Cervelo R2 and Zipp 404s with very low miles that I keep meaning to sell. Bought it thinking I'd make the change from tri's to more roadie riding and it just never happened. Seems the only riding I did was either mountain bike or tri bike on a trainer. Then kids came and none of the bikes have gotten mileage the last 3 years.

Dang, I didn't know electronic shifting was a thing these days. I've been out of the cycling world for a long time. That's crazy. What's the advantage?

- precision, lower maintenance (easier on cables), easier shifting when under a heavy load.

but i think most would say the reduced workload is the biggest benefit.

And shifter on both aero bars and base bars. Single biggest benefit for me. I hated climbing and having to reach up to shift on aero bars on older model tri bikes.

More accurate shifting. Less maintenance because you don't have cable stretch and don't have to worry about cables rusting or getting mucked up. More reliability because you push a button and it just shifts. Period. (as long as your battery isn't dead, which has only happened to me once in about 15 years)

The only reason it should become misaligned is if you bend the derailleur hanger, which is going to make mechanical misaligned, too.

Wonder if they'll figure out how to make a continually variable gear set one day, where you can just set your cadence and target power output and it'll adjust your gears automatically.

It really depends on usage. If I'm doing a lot of racing where I'm shifting a lot, it's only about 1,000k/600 miles. If I'm doing a lot of road training where I'm not shifting as much, it's more than double that and probably triple that. I plug it in about once a quarter outside of racing season and about twice a month during season. Also, there is a battery meter on my Garmin, so it gives me a reminder of when I need to charge it.

Di2 will auto-shift based on cadence, if you want it to. I don't want it to, but it's available.
