How long do you want to ignore this user?
Anybody have any experience with this other than useless FDA boilerplate warnings? Thanks!

No personal experience. But this is an interesting YouTube channel.

Another thought is a lot of these are sourced from shady places. Don't know what you're actually getting.

My only experience with it is what I see in the ER.
People say it's not addictive.. I would disagree.

I have never heard of this so sharing an AI query: Sounds like it could be pretty beneficial in low doses like caffeine.

Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) is a tropical evergreen tree native to Southeast Asia, primarily found in Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, and other nearby countries[1][4]. It belongs to the coffee family (Rubiaceae) and can grow up to 50 feet tall with a spread of over 15 feet[1].

The leaves of the kratom tree contain psychoactive compounds, primarily mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine, which produce both stimulant and sedative effects depending on the dosage[3][4]. Kratom has been used traditionally in Southeast Asia for centuries as an herbal remedy and to increase work productivity[1].

Kratom can be consumed in various forms:

- Chewing fresh leaves
- Brewing dried leaves into tea
- Smoking dried leaves
- Ingesting powdered leaf in capsules or tablets
- Taking liquid extracts[3][4]

At low doses, kratom typically produces stimulant effects, including increased alertness, physical energy, and talkativeness[3]. At higher doses, it can have sedative and pain-relieving effects similar to opioids[4]. Some people use kratom to self-treat conditions such as chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and opioid withdrawal symptoms[2].

However, it's important to note that the FDA has not approved kratom for any medical use and has raised concerns about its safety and potential for abuse[2]. The efficacy and safety of kratom remain unclear, and its use carries risks of side effects and potential addiction[4].

No first-hand experience. But I have a good friend who is recently divorced from her husband. This wasn't the primary reason I don't think, but she has said several times that he was addicted to Kratom and it caused problems in his life and their relationship. He had previous dependency issues with alcohol so not terribly surprising. Guy is middle-age and an attorney, so not a complete deadbeat, but obviously dealing with some demons.

I'm not a doctor, but I wouldn't recommend it. I've heard stories of pretty bad addiction. Check out Reddit.

I know someone that was sneaking it to their kid and the kid would get headaches whenever they didn't take it for a while. Kid said he felt loopy when he took it

Don't get me started on them giving it to a kid.
