Found a couple older threads on this but didn't find many recs in them.

We are in the market for a home sauna. Don't think we want infrared. Prefer electric over wood burning.

Can anyone offer their experience and brand, along with options/logistics to consider…

Are windows/glass good or bad?
Shingled roof?
Texas climate outside?
Can 2 people really fit in a 2 person?
Round vs Square?

Ive got the clear light sanctuary 6 and love it. Although I wouldn't have more than 4 people in it.

I know you said no infrared, but you might consider it. I put an extra heater in mine and it gets to 175 pretty easy which you'll be drenched. Infrared also heats up your cells directly instead of heating the air.

It's one of the best purchases we have made. My wife and I sauna and cold plunge at least 4 times a week and it's amazing for weight loss, better sleep, detox etc. You won't regret it.

Great point thank you.

Which heaters do you have in there?

Also, is yours indoors or outside?

It's indoors, was pretty easy to install and we had to get a different outlet put in by an electrician first but wasn't expensive.

The sanctuary 6 comes with 4 heaters with an option to put an extra heater on the door. Or that slot can be used for a red light device they sell as well.

Following as we're looking at sauna and cold plunge.

Curious as to which cold plunge you have at home? Considering the Plunge as we have the space versus one of the smaller ones.

I have the Plunge brand hot/cold version. Worked well for about a year and now the chiller keeps freezing up. They sent me a brand new chiller for free and it does the same. Not sure what's causing it to do that but it's unusable if I can't figure it out.

I put in an aquacal tropicool pool chiller. We can isolate it to only cool down the hot tub for cold plunges instead of the doing the whole pool. It gets the water down to 40 degrees. I have also read good things about the Morozko forge as wellif you want to go that route.

One thing to take into consideration is the power source you want to use. Infared can operate off a standard outlet but if you get a wet/dry sauna those require a 220V outlet so you might need to have some professional wiring done at your home. Location matters as well, lots of infared saunas can go inside your home and I believe the wet/dry ones are normally outside due to their size.
