BSD or TroyMC, do yall have any contacts within Dr. Kar's office in Houston? I found some previous posts that made me think you might. I had an appointment on 12/10 that is now pushed back to 12/31. I was hoping one of you might be able to help me out if you know someone there. Dealing with a 90% blocked LAD/Widowmaker artery. Thanks in advance!

Dammit man. I dealt with that crap 4 years ago. You probably need a good surgeon as well. Possibly first.

Just curious - did you end up with a bypass as opposed to a stent? I had a catheterization/angiogram and the doctor came in after the procedure and told me I needed to talk to a heart surgeon about a bypass. When I questioned him about a stent, he told me it was an easy one to place and said it would fix the problem. Gave me no reasoning as to why he was initially pushing the bypass route and didn't explain why he didn't just put the stent in during the procedure. Left me very confused. Trying to get in to another doctor now to help me hopefully make some sense of what I am dealing with.

I had been walking around for a few months thinking I pulled muscles in my chest somewhere. I never would've dreamed I'd be having minor attacks at my age. Without getting into all the details of getting to the hospital…. I went in for the stents and was told they could do it but there were several blockages and I would have to get them replaced every 3 or so years. That's when they recommended open heart surgery. I was given the choice and said f it cut me open. So I'm guessing that's why they didn't do the stents.

Ok. That makes sense. They actually found 5 blockages in me anywhere from 50-90%. I think the 90% LAD was the only one they thought was bad enough to fix. Maybe my age has something to do with the bypass suggestion - just about to turn 50.

We are the same age and class. I just got hit with this bs a few years earlier than you.
