Anyone have any experience with the "Clear Whey" products - I'm seeing them pop up a lot more in my feeds.

Several years back I went in search of a protein powder that wasn't forced into a "milky/shakey" flavor. I found a product from IsoPure that fit the bill, but it seemed to be so packed with Stevia or some other artificial flavor that I was turned off by it.

I did find a product called "ProteinWater" that seems to have disappeared.

Now I'm seeing options that look much more like electrolyte drinks/flavors that I'm intrigued to try some again.

I've tried several but my problem with them is they all use a sugar substitute, which doesn't really work for me. Some of them taste like candy. Just like any product, some taste better than others. It's hard for me to be a regular user though since it generally makes me feel not very good.

If you go into a GNC or nutrition store like that, you will a lot of brands - powders and already made drinks.

Do what I do. Get a 10lb bay of NOW brand whey unflavored, and then for each serving mix in pure cocoa powder and sweeten with whatever you want (mink fruit/stevia/honey/whatever). Cheap and you're not consuming junk.

For my own curiosity...

Whey comes from milk which is why it is shakey - but I assume you know that. What about it you don't like? I think I am somewhat lactose intolorant so it tends to upset my stomach a bit. The whey isolate like Isopure doesn't do that, but I get the sugar substitute/price issue I can understand why you don't want to go that route. unless there is something new out there, I am pretty sure you just have to pick your poison.

Or you could just eat more...

If you've got a Ninja Creami, you can use the fruitier whey proteins and mix it with whole fruit of your choosing and make a high protein sorbet. It's awesome. Just made one with a fruit punch-flavored protein powder along with cherries and mixed berries.
