Late Onset Heavy Cream Allergy?

We make ice cream a lot with our ninja creami using milk, protein and pudding mix. Wife was prepping them and ran out of milk and used some half and half for some and when I ate it my face swelled up. I can't remember the last time I specifically had heavy cream but i am sure some of her recipes included it, although probably cooked. There were two different batches with two varying amounts of half and half and the one that had more made the swelling worse.

Is this normal? Should I be concerned or see a dr about this? Could it be a sign of something else? Swelling went away by morning. Just super weird. Wish I would have taken a picture.

Any other ingredients in the half and half (or heavy cream...not sure which was used)? A lot of times there's a gum/stabilizer added.

I'm not sure but I can ask my wife, and it was half and half used.

You should definitely see a doctor. Sometimes the immune system is trying to tell you something.

I recently had blood work for a company physical and another unrelated thing and all came back normal, so makes it extra odd to me. Will be a month until I can see anyone because of work but I will try to get it set up

Good deal. One other thing you might consider is an allergy panel. My wife went anaphylactic years ago over black pepper (determined with later screening). Turned out it wasn't the black pepper - it was more due to an immune system set on edge by a more ominous visitor. I didn't want to scare you; I apologize for that. But something as common as dairy causing a response may be worth seeing the allergist.
