I just bought a pair of open run Shokz. Couldn't find through Google so probably know the answer but do they have the capability of reading texts received while connected via Bluetooth? Is that just an AirPod thing?

They do not. That's just an airpod thing.

Mine don't even pair to my Garmin Forerunner Music (although mine are so old, they are Aftershokz Aeropex).

I turn my phone on airplane mode during most races. I don't want to be bothered with texts while I'm trying not to fall on my face.
