I am intrigued by the idea of a ring to track all of the measurements that a bulky Garmin/Apple Watch would be able to track.

I have heard that it is good for sleep tracking. Is it good for workouts, steps, daytime heart rate, etc? Anyone have any thoughts on it now that they released the Workout HR?

i'm sure it is good for HR and sleep data, but can't imagine it would, in any other way, replace a garmin.

I have an Oura ring and Garmin Fenix 7. I do not think the Oura is a suitable replacement for the Garmin. If you're not performing an activity that requires the use of your hands/grip, the Oura might ok. That said, in my experience, the Garmin just does so much more than the Oura. I wear Garmin + chest HRM during most activities and Oura at night to track sleep (I cant sleep in a watch). Generally, I am Garmin + Oura during the day and Oura only at night. I find the sleep data interesting and relatively useful but if I hadn't received the Oura as a gift from my wife I probably wouldn't own one.

ETA I am still in the free subscription period and on the fence if I will renew once it runs out.

I had a Gen2 for a long time and it was interesting but not ground breaking. I then got the gen3 when they were offering free monthly subscription for upgrading. I ended up returning and selling my gen2 when I got my new Fenix. I now just sleep with my watch and get pretty much the data I was looking for.
The gen3 promised a lot and they haven't delivered most of it.

Felt same way about Whoop strap.. interesting data but once you get a month or two after that its not ground breaking info and you kind of know what to expect each time.

Oura is still updating their software and just added triggered heart rate tracking for exercise a few months ago. It works great for walking and running but often fails to record heart rate for my vr workout because I'm holding a controller. I do like the readiness score and find it to be pretty accurate. In fact I caught COVID this week and it let me know the day before I really started to get symptoms.

Interesting. How comfortable do you find the ring? Do you wear it on the ring finger?

Left index and comfortable.

Thanks. How is the heart rate tracking during workouts, rest, and sleep?

Working out is still hit or miss for me which is a bit annoying but they are still adding stuff monthly. During rest and sleep it is great. I did a walk then run today and the run didn't pick up heart rate.
