Anyone had it? I'm looking into it. Too many old sport injuries on the knees. I am still very active doing 4-5 boot camps per week. If I wasn't active, I would not need it. However, I like to remain active. I've already done cortisone & hyaluronic acid injections which help hide the pain. However, I'm looking for something additional to help prevent it. More specifically, I'm looking to postpone knee replacement as long as possible.

hopefully aggiederelict sees this one. We discussed PRP and Prolo both for my hip(s). Luckily, through mobility, strength, time, and PT I've been able to move forward without injections.

They seem to help some, not help others. If I'm remembering correctly, you'll need at least a couple rounds before you will know if its helping or not. These typically aren't covered by insurance, so it can get expensive fast.

It's a nice option for someone who isn't responding to PT but not ready for surgery. Have you tried PT yet?

I'm considering the same for disc issues at L4/5 and L5/S1. I've had epidural injections over the past several years but I no longer appear to be responding positively. I'm used to an active lifestyle and, at 40, was told that surgical intervention at this stage would be counterproductive.

That seems to leave PRP therapy and stem cell therapy as the only options available apart from a drastically altered lifestyle.

My mom did that but got no relief. She also tried PT.

She's now scheduled for a knee replacement in just over a month.
