Just keep doing what you're doing. None of us do this for a living, it should be something we enjoy.

Hilton - Also, remember, this is the internet... most people are posting their best case scenario pace.

Who's going to plot all of this data so I don't have to read?

This is only for the males. I used the middle of the range when someone said their pace is 8:00 - 9:00, for example.

Dave's data point is screwing up the trendline because he's skinny but out of shape

If I actually ran or stopped drinking beer, I'd probably drop another 5 lbs.

Easy runs are done around 9:15 - 9:45. Recent 10K was 7:45 pace. Hoping to finish my first marathon under 4 hrs (9:09) in a few weeks.

I knew I was slow but I was pretty proud to be out there anyway. Not a natural runner.

nobody should be ashamed of their times.

there's a lady in my neck of the woods who is about mid-40s, homeschool mother of 8 who finishes top 5 OA in most races she runs. i'm scared to run in a race against her because i know she'd kill me and my friends would find out about it and make fun of me.

Out of curiousity, what is your average heart rate running at these paces for lets say an average run distance for you?

My average at 6.5 miles, 9:30 pace is around 155 to 162 bpm depending on the temperature and humidity

185-210-ish. I stress eat. A lot.
8:30-9:00 minute pace for most runs. I should probably vary that up a bit, but I don't.

Checking in For the average people...

6'2
190 or 195 depending on day of the week
Ran 6 miles in 1 hour yesterday. Did a half marathon in april (la jolla....lots of inclines and I was severely hung over) in 2:20

Average an 830 minute mile on my 1st mile workouts during the week with my dog rocky. Usually average 9.30 at the end of the runs. 4ish miles

Started the year at 205ish and got myself down to what i consider healthy enough at 190ish

I wouldn't consider myself healthy below 185...i like beer too much.

Avg Pace: 5K pace is about 8:30 right now, 10k is about 9:30, and anything over that is 10:00 or higher. Once we started having kids it's more about getting out of the house and having some "me time" and I'm not too concerned about pace anymore
