How long do you want to ignore this user?
On Friday afternoon the 23rd I my throat was hurting and I had a fever of 101 so I went to a urgent care clinic. They did a rapid strep test and confirmed I had strep. Dr prescribed Amoxicillin and Clavlanate Potassium 875/125. I took the first dose at 6pm and by 9pm my fever was already coming down. I woke up the next morning and was feeling great.

I'm not sure when it started but sometime later in the next day I started feeling bad and had a headache. The last 3-4 days I've had a severe headache from the time I wake up to when I go to bed. Been taking 3 Advil's 2x a day and this dulls it. I very rarely get headaches and if I do they are gone in 1/2 day but this one is sticking around.

Could the antibiotics be causing this? I've never had any issue with amoxicillin before but I looked up on the web and this is a "strong" dose.

TIA

That is a normal adult dosage, and I would look for other causes of the headache, especially if you have any neck stiffness or photophobia. Augmentin is very bad for giving nausea and diarrhea, headache is not a common side effect

Neck feels great and not sure on the photophobia but I've not been around any bright light that is abnormal.

I check my blood pressure a few times a week and have been checking it and while it is slightly high this is normal for me at ~130/90 which I've been working on for that past few months fairly unsuccessfully.

I was running a very low grade ~99.2 fever the other day for a little while but have been fine for the past 2 days.

Thanks for the help....

Have you been eating and drinking enough with your sore throat?

If you don't have a fever (100.4 is considered a fever), no neck stiffness, the headache wasn't sudden onset, you loss of or altered sensations on your body, no weakness, no vision issues, no tenderness in your temples, you're not using the heater in your house (and it's pumping out CO), I probably wouldn't be too worried.

Try taking a benadryl with your ibuprofen when you get home (and won't be driving).
