Howdy all,

I can't seem to find any dress shoes to wear to work that don't eventually begin causing some discomfort in my knees and/or feet. I work in a cubicle. Pretty standard office environment.

Especially for you heavy runners, what kinds of shoes to you wear in the office? Do you get minor aches and pains? Is there a certain type of show you buy, or will any shoes with some good insoles do the trick?

Thanks in advance. Sure wish I could wear tennis shoes every day..

Try Ecco. My dress shoes are Ecco with Superfeet black insoles. For casual shoes I wear Ecco that have nice arch support and do not need the Superfeet.

I also recommend Ecco. I'm wearing a pair now that are very comfortable. That said, I have two pair of Luccheses and one pair of Allen Edmons that are at least as comfortable. I wear all at work.

Ecco is the only company I've found that makes a dress shoe that is flexible and comfortable while still looking sleek like an actual dress shoe. Can't stand a chunky sole. Johnston Murphy gets close, but you'll pay good money for either.

last time I looked the only decent looking eccos were $250. Now they appear to have a lower line that isn't too chunky for $170.

when I first started working in an office I wore a hole in two sets of cheap(bostonian) rubber soled shoes in just under 2 years. buy nice or buy twice they say, so now all my shoes are stitched leather soles from Johnston Murphy. They can all be re-soled if needed, but they've held up well for a while now.

They don't feel like tennis shoes, but I don't find them uncomfortable at all. I even have an adjustable desk so I stand for a couple hours each day. a decent factory insole, and a little more heel drop make a big difference.

I buy Facotry 2nds from Allen Edmonds. I've never noticed whatever blemishes move them to 2nd's. www.shoebank.com

Some nice AE's on there for under $200, made in the USA and they'll last forever

I'm a ~200 lb runner and I've worn Sperry's to work for about the last 4 years. No complaints.

Ecco's. Pull out the inserts and put in super feet or soles
