last time I tried drilling a new hole in a belt, I ended up punching it pretty deep before touching it with a drill bit. I used slightly smaller bit than the 3/8" and then opened the hole out more with the punch. looked pretty good at the end of the day. I also gave the whole belt a good conditioning before and after to prevent cracks and such

2 and 1/2 months later, weight loss is still slow... down to 201 though! I think the switch from fruit to veggies helped a lot, but at this rate I won't hit 180 until September of 2016!

How's the OP doing?

Without reading back through the thread, have you been tracking your daily intake using myfitnesspal or something? Are you still doing swimming and biking? Imo all that LISS cardio is no good. You should do HIIT instead if your goal is fat loss. Also, what exactly do you mean by weight lifting? Are you doing a program? How tall are you? How old are you?

If sweets are still a struggle I have been enjoying eating dark chocolate Su - Th in place of any dessert. Usually get a very high %cacao ~88% and split a normal sized bar into fifths. Hits my desire for sweets during the week at less than 100 calories per day and I feel okay having a bowl of ice cream on the weekend.

Wrong. I'm a woman. I live in the kitchen. Still fat.

I kid, kind of.

In all seriousness, count your calories. Download MyFitnessPal or FatSecret and use it for everything you eat.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but reading about OPs weight loss is really frustrating for me. I've been swimming 30-60 min 3-5 times a week, stationary biking 30-45 min 3 times a week, and weight lifting every other day since Jan 1. Prior to this I was not working out at all.

In total I've lost 4 pounds.... down from 213 to 209. Body fat % on the scale has only dropped 1% although I'm not sure how accurate the reading is. (I use the fitbit scale "Aria")

Goal weight is 180. Although I FEEL better now than 4 months ago, and am getting STRONGER/lifting more, I would really like to start shedding the pounds faster. Any advice?

Setting aside what your scale is telling you, are you noticing a change in your body? Do you look more defined? Shirts tighter in the shoulders? Pants and shirts looser in the midsection?

From your post below, the late night sweets are probably hurting you.

Change in body is good, can't push my stomach out super far to freak out my wife anymore (haha) and yes the other descriptions match as well. Keep in mind that I have lost 8 more pounds since the post you quoted above. Able to wear some shirts I haven't been able to in over a year.

I have also changed my method completely since the above quoted post...

Current habit is 100% focused on diet. The only excercise I've been able to do is this daily morning routine.... 250-300 crunches of various types (flat leg, side, chair etc...), pushups until failure (usually between 35-40), squats until failure, 2 set bicep curls (10rep at 20 pounds), 2 set triceps extensions (12rep at 15 pounds).

Was thinking of adding in sprints in the evenings.

Edit to add: Thank you everyone else as well for your encouragement and suggestions!

Try more fibrous fruits: canteloupe, all melons, berries.

Grapes and bananas have the most sugar in them.

going well, thank you! down to 180 and holding for a long time now. I haven't tried to go lower yet, still enjoying a little more salsa and alcohol on the weekends. doing pretty much the same I have been, eating nuts if I get hungry.
