Have had allergies my entire life and am always on some sort of antihistamine protocol during the Fall.

My Aggie doctor recommended I take Pepcid AC to control the histamine produced in my stomach.

(2) weeks later, no longer need traditional antihistamines, no sneezing or watery eyes.

Thought I would pass it on for the allergy sufferers out there.

Good that you found something that worked but, as with every drug, I'd be a little cautious about long term everyday use. You don't want your body developing a tolerance to the stomach effects, and then you might need to take something like nexium.

Agreed.

Mainly for the Fall (allergy season).

pepcid is an anti-histamine

2) pepcid is predominantly used as a stomach acid pill, not unlike nexium (tho diff family of meds)

Yes I realize it is an h2 blocker, traditional antihistamine = Allegra, Claritin, Benadryl

Interesting. I may have to try that to see if it works.

My allergist recently recommended the pepcid ac/zyterc (not d) daily for my allergies. Surprisingly, I'm doing ALOT better than what they were. He wasn't concerned at the interactions nor the length of being on them both.
