How do I get relief for an ulcer on my tonsil?

My doctor would not prescribe anything saying it's a virus and just has to run it's course.

So far, it's course is creating a lot of pain for me. The only thing that has been of relief has been Orabase which has 20% Benzocaine to numb the area. I am having to put it on every couple hours though.

I need something to start "attacking and killing" the ulcer.

Not much is gonna help it heal any quicker.

Go to a dentist get a topical application of Debacterol and an Rx for Apthasol. Apthasol makes it feel soooo much better. Debacterol hurts like an SOB tho.

My dentist would not do anything, they said 7-12 days.

I would love to get some of that stuff, but I am north of Houston (Spring / Woodlands).

Get a new dentist. No reason for you to be in pain!

Oasis Man....where can I find this stuff.

I have been looking at local CVS's and such...and I don't recall seeing lidocaine...think I would have bought it had I seen it.
