Ok, I know what shoulder pain is, but this one has been fairly tough to crack.

Not that bad and doesn't limit strength in any of my normal movements.

On my lifts it hurts at the bottom of a barbell bench press and at the bottom of weighted dips.

Specifically it hurts when my arm rests to my side with my palm to the side of my leg and I push my hand into my leg with force. That is the only movement I can find other than what I just said where there is any pain. No pain when I do shoulder presses, lateral raises, front raises or 2 rotator cuff excercises shown below (I typically do 3x10 of the cable internal and external rotations in my shoulder workouts):

I would also suggest training in balance. Too often gym clowns will train anterior/posterior out of a recommended 60/40 ratio. Too much chest and not enough back. This will get you in shoulder trouble.

Also, you need to be doing an rotator cuff program at least once a week using no more than 5 lbs. 12-15 exercises, 1 set of 10 for each.

Phi, you know me better than to think I'm one of these guys who thinks bench press, curls, triceps extentions and calf raises is a full body workout.

Here's my routine. Been working out 2 days a week (being married with a kid kills the gym routine).

Monday: chest and back

Bench press, weighted dips, pullups, one arm rows, deadlifts.

Wednesday: shoulders and legs

shoulder press or arnold press, the 2 rotator cuff excercises mentioned, front or lateral raises (I do one or the other and alternate week to week), squats

I may be wrong, but the "cuban press rotation" exercise recommended in the OP's link looks to me like it cause impingement of the AC joint.

That sounds exactly like the pain I've been having for the past few months. An mri showed a Labral tear and osteolysis, which apparently is a form of arthritis common to weight lifters. The only way to totally fix it is surgery to grind off part of the arthritic joint. I went with cortizone instead and after 2 injections the pain is manageable if I take advil prior to my workout

I'm with Slurm, I have had two labrum surgeries on both shoulders and the pain the OP describes is identical to what I experienced.
