Are there any other online dealers for car audio that are worth a damn? I've got my eye on an Alpine deck and I won't give my business to Crutchfield. Skeptical about Best Buy, and don't know what to think about other local places (Audio Video?). Any suggestions or opinions?

www.etronics.com

You will not find better prices, and their quality and service are great.

Nevermind, J&R doesnt carry Alpine. Nor do they have a good selection of car audio.

found this one, but I have never bought anything from them:

I suppose you could always try ebay.

This is a reputable company:

I bought one at Tweeter because I was looking for a specific model, and they were the only ones who still had it. They don't offer free installation though. I think Best Buy does on anything over $100. It's not really difficult though. Car Toys has a good selection of Alpine, but you may need to get them to match a price from somewhere else.

Crutchfield has been great for me. Tweeter is too damn expensive and are over the top on install fees.

Check out the prices on e-bay. You can't be guaranteed good service but they have by far the lowest prices you can find. I've never had any problems buying anything on e-bay.

Many of Crutchfield's prices are high, even terrible. But no worse than Best Buy etc. When they put stuff on sale their prices are pretty good. Most of the very good prices on new car stereo on ebay are from equipment liquidators. The prices are very good but they offer no warranty other than for DOA equipment. I've bought several times from these sellers without problems.

Crutchfield excels on support. They provide dash kits, wiring harnesses, usually for free with a head unit purchase. And you can call them with any questions you have during installation.
