Wife is ready for something bigger and it's time to move on from her 14 year old Jeep Grand Cherokee. We currently are shopping for an Expedition or possibly a Tahoe. The expedition is probably leading the way but we are in day one of shopping for the car. I'm pretty turned off by GM and all their issues with the 6.2. Also not the biggest fan of GM's 5.3 either.

What's the Auto Boards pick for a large SUV for 2027?

My wife drives a Tahoe with the Baby Duramax and loves it.

Canyonero or bust.

Expedition would get my vote but only because I prefer the 150 over the 1500. Everyone has motor problems and quality issues, it seems like just a roll of the dice on that.

My wife went from a Yukon 5.3L to a Tahoe 3.0 Duramax to a new Expedition. 3.5L HO. The 3.5L seems to have less mechanical issues from my research. We have liked all 3. Thought the Yukon looked the best, but the Expy is super nice inside and that 3.5L HO will GO!

Probably going to stay away from the Duramax as we have enough going on without having to fill the wife's vehicle with def. Just an extra task I don't want to deal with.

Not to mention the price of diesel

Preach on. I'm a farmer. I cry every-time I turn that orange key to start a John Deere Tractor.

I know for a fact that if I got my wife a diesel, she would fill it up with unleaded within 3 months. Not a doubt in my mind.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about the Expedition. My contact is in my profile.
I will NEVER apologize for being American

I'm friends with the owner of Marble Falls Chevrolet. He said they get at least one of these calls every month.

My wife went from the Expedition to a Denali and I like the GM better. I feel like the 6.2 tows my boat better than the 3.5 boost and seats are more comfortable. We've got a warranty to 150K miles and installed the Range AFM/DFM defeater

That warranty to 150 k might come in handy with that 6.2

I've had both a boost expedition max and a 6.2 L Tahoe high country. Comfort, convenience, storage, virtually everything, my wife and I both agreed the expedition was far superior. We owned it for five years before selling it to 1ags

I had the Tahoe on a one year lease. The engine blew up on the way back to the dealership after they picked it up from my house when my lease was over.

If i were shopping for my family, i'd get the Expedition. GM has let me/other customers down too many times at this point.

I have prior gen expedition and enjoy it very much, but the interior/dash of new one is absolutely hideous. I will never buy a GM product, nor would i be getting diesel engine with these prices. personally, id suck it up and get the ford or I'd look at a QX80/top trim armada.

I have the same gut feeling which hurts because myself, dad and brother all run Chevy 2500 HDs with 6.6 gas motors and have had excellent luck with them. Unfortunately, it looks like I would have to wait until 2029 before the SUVs get a new engine and I can't wait that long.
