I am wanting to add some offroad lights for my 21 Ram 3500. I drive mountain roads frequently at night and want to be able to see the sides and ditches better.

Thinking I would add some hood mount brackets becasue that seems fairly easy. Looking for great quality powerful lights.

Thanks

I have a set of Baja Design pod lights on the hood of my Tundra. There are plenty of styles to choose from and they are PLENTY bright

Baja Designs' Squadron series are great for ditch lights.

Their LP6's provide even more light but they're physically a lot larger too.
S2's are pretty small and not as "worth it" for what you want.

Once you decide on the model, you might also consider amber instead of white. It tends to be easier on the eyes and less reflective off snow and dust.

also a big fan of Baja. put some Baja on the hood and some Baja S1s or S2s if they will fit on these brackets.

Those mounts would be great but they don't have an option for 2021 Rams yet.

I run Diode Dynamics SS3 lights on my F150. Very high quality and great customer service. Not sure what bracket you plan on running but the SDHQ ones are the best in the market. Amber is the way to go

You may want to look at the lighting regulations in the area you are driving - when I read mountain roads it reminded me that my buddy just got pulled over in the communist republic of Colorado for running auxiliary lights that were "rated for road use as driving lights". The cop told him forward facing auxiliary lights were illegal in CO. He turned them off and the cop let him go without a ticket. It may have been a bogus stop and a bunch of BS, but you might want to consider looking into it before mounting anything on a nice truck.

Do the amber lights give enough extra visible coverage to light the shoulders and ditches to help watch for critters about to jump out and total your ride? Never really thought they would help that much?

I appreciate the heads up. This will be mainly for true mountain gravel roads in NM.

I have the amber Diode Dynamic Elite series Amber Fog lamps on my Tacoma and they do a great job lighting up well beyond my stock headlights. I also have a Baja Designs 20" light bar mounted in my winch bumper and it is incredibly bright, and lights up everything you could ever want to see. The BD Squadrons are good, but you need to make sure they are mounted such that they aren't throwing a lot of light onto your hood because the contrast can interfere with your vision further down the road.

I was recently wondering if people still put lights on their trucks. Used to be such a popular thing when I was in high school. Have a roll bar in the back with some lights on top. What were they called? KC lights?

Man that was the ticket back then

I have had A pillar lights on my last 2 trucks. They work well. I'd like something a bit more inconspicuous on my F150. Trying to find a light bar that will hide in the grill or bumper
