Last month I got a new Silverado and its already left me stranded. According to the shop, its because of the aftermarket GPS that is draining the battery. The problem is I didnt install one and the dealer is saying they dont do that either.

Anyone else experience this? What are the chances a shady worker installed it so they could try and steal it later? Its San Antonio if that matters.

If it's not removed, find it and remove it.

This was actually it?? Damn.

Then you don't have to have it removed. You can remove it yourself very easily.

ok so here is what under my dash looks like now. i do not remember anything hanging like that so maybe the guy already removed it. tried looking for a diagram to see what its supposed to look like but couldnt find anything. will probably post this on the other thread too.

That doesn't look removed, just unplugged.

Perhaps it was swapped from a dealership that does install them.

The reality is the dealership you bought it from is responsible!

The wire hanging with the blue clip is the oem plug. Use a 7mm socket and remove the one that's on the obd port and put the original back.

For clarification, is this the 7mm screw circled in yellow?

Yes - that's the piggyback OBD2 port. Those wires likely go to a black gps/cellular box stuffed up in the dash.

Dealerships are well known for always being honest.

Welp she's out. May tie it to one of the wild roosters across the tracks so they still have something to track

Yep. Drove it over to another dealership and had them do it so I had a paper trail just in case.

double check if they didn't put another tracker on it (half way serious)
