Anyone have a list of 2026 brand/models that dont have the driver facing cameras? Wife bought a kia telluride and I hate driving it because of the camera that tracks my eyes. I wear glasses, sunglasses, and have somewhat droopy eyes and its always telling me to keep eyes on the road. One time it couldnt read my eyes and started slowing the vehicle down on the highway.

I'm in the market for a new car after mine just busted. Currently looking at a 4runner because it seems to be one of the few models that dont have the driver facing cameras. Does anyone have a list of 2026 vehicles that do not have the cameras standard? This sounds like it would be a great marketing campaign. Surprised nobody is marketing their cars this way as you got a wholearket of buyers who dont want this techy stuff in their cars

Why buy new? This board is riddled with threads of issues on new cars.

No way I'll ever get a car with all that nanny stuff. It's insane what we're willing to put up with as a society

Basically it said you can put a piece of tape over the IR sensor. It will alert you each time the vehicle is turned on, but then will function normally with the eye stuff turned off.

Ive seen a bunch of youtube videos that show the camera is still active if you turn it off and will still notify you if it sees you not paying attention… havent found a way to turn it off my wife's telluride

I don't want half ass self driving. Gimme the full thing or let me do it myself. I don't like fighting lane assist when I give a car extra room or I don't use my blinker on a lane change on an empty highway. I don't need to be reminded to take a coffee break from driving. I don't want cruise control matching the speed of the asian grandma in front of me. And, I don't want to navigate 6 screens on the infotainment screen to turn all that crap off. Make the damn car do the driving or get out of the way.

I turned it off and put tape over the sensor/camera on my 25 F150

Only nanny I cant figure out is it turns on lane keep assist every time I use cruise control

So are you trying to use adaptive cruise and lane assist when you're getting the annoying issues or even if you are driving totally in control will the car chime at you ?

I have a '25 Ford explorer- it only chimes at me if I've got the drive assist features on - while annoying - I can live with it. If theres a car that starts chiming at me just regularly driving that's def a hard NO from me.

Bronco, Wrangler, etc. There are still plenty of options if you don't want minivan ride. Manuals are still even offered in both. A buddy has a new Nissan Z that's an old school manual with no namnies if you're so inclined.

This is what i told my wife. Was looking at cybertruck but then i saw that its not fully autonomous yet so i was like screw that.

The 27 Telluride has a setting that you can turn that off. From the driver's home screen where there's a silhouette of a car on the dashboard, hold down the OK button, and then on the main display panel to your right, click on driver attention warning, then it is the last toggle switch on the bottom.

Where's the camera? I have a 25 f150 and it never bugs me other than the stupid steering wheel crap when using the adaptive cruise control which yells at me when I don't hold the steering wheel a certain way. So I don't use it. Easy.

Otherwise I haven't had any issues described on this thread. Don't use the fancy cruise control and it doesn't care what I'm doing.

And the lane assist thing can be toggled on and off by a button on the steering wheel. Takes less than a second and not an ounce of thought, but I also rarely use cruise control since I'm mostly towing. Or am I oversimplifying things…?

Yeah, I'm getting increasingly disturbed by new car unreliability, nanny tech and now outright spying on you. Go low mileage used and pull the fuse for the modem that rats you out. My 2016 Navigator is pristine and I don't rack up many miles now that I retired. I think I'll keep that running as long as possible.

My '23 Titan is spying on me and ratting me out. I keep turning off the data transmission but I think that button is a placebo. Had to have it towed once and Nissan sent me a text saying my truck was being towed. **** you Nissan!

I drove my son's '22 STX and it kept demanding I put both hands on the wheel and started a countdown, Not sure what would have happened once it got to zero, but apparently the truck thinks it owns me rather than the other way around. **** you Ford!

You'd think the public would be more angry about this stuff.
