It's an excellent oil. I have clients vans with 300K plus now running this.

I used to sell and deliver automotive fluids for 6 years.

Based on my experience, I highly doubt we will see a significant drop in the supply of products.

Local Walmart in Wichita had more Mobil 1 on their shelves than I have ever seen last week. Sometimes I have to hit 2-3 Walmarts to get the 5W-30 High Mileage / Extended Performance 5 qt jugs. They had about 20 on the shelf if not more. I bought 2 just in case.

You guys are about to see firsthand how unimportant motor oil grades and viscosities really are. Synthetic, conventional, blend, 5w20, 10w40…..they'll use what they have and the engines will probably run longer.

One of my trucks has run conventional oil AND synthetic for almost a half million miles and the inside of it is pristine. Change oil in less than 10,000 miles and it simply doesn't matter.

It mattered in 1956, but not nowadays.

Took our minivan in for an oil change a couple of weeks ago. It calls for 0-20. Noticed on the invoice they (dealership) used 5w-30 Mobil 1 instead of their usual bulk. Charged same price. I figured it was related to this thread.

I mean, it's still pretty cheap. Add one extra quart for 6 total plus a $5 filter and your at $35 ish for 1 oil change. That's about 9 gallons of gas at most stations right now in Texas
