Getting new brakes and spark plug replacement.
They recommended a 3-step fuel system service that apparently goes with spark plug replacement…..is this dealer bs or is it a legit thing I should do?

Have you had the timing belt done? If not, I'd decline the unnecessary fuel system cleaning and actually pay for something that you do need.

That's usually a high margin service that dealers recommend regardless.

Edit- this is based on me running an Xpress Lube in highschool. That and air filters were the biggest margins that we tried to upsell on a regular basis. Not sure if much has changed.

Timing belt was done at 100k

Good. Then I'd tell them no thanks on the fuel system flush.

Just curious…what are they quoting on the plugs? When I had the timing belt done on Odysseus, I got a quote for plugs…$600. Told them "no thanks," and bought plugs off of Rock Auto and spent about 45 minutes on a Friday afternoon doing them. The 3 in the back were hard to reach, but not $500 hard.

$600 it was. I don't have a mechanical bone in my body so I wasn't about to tackle it myself

Take it to an independent shop and pay half that or less.

That would depend on if his time and hassle to go somewhere else, leave it, get a ride to work/home, go back, pick it up...etc. is worth $300.

I must be fortunate. We drop one of our vehicles off on the way to work and pick each other up and drop them at work and then reverse the process on the way home.

Hopefully he's got some convenient options.

That sounds like a decent price for a dealer, which I can't believe I'm saying. I changed the spark plugs on my 2014 pilot and half of them are on the backside facing the firewall, and you have to change them blindly.
