I've read countless horror stories in the gm 6.2 engine

I spoke with guys that sell cars that tell me the Toyota turbo v6s are s***

We all know the Ford Econoline V6 is have had callus issues

What is the best truck for reliability performance durability on the market in the past 5 to 7 years?

My hunch is it's the previous generation tundra with a 5.7 engine

There's some 2020-2022 GM trucks that came from the factory without DFM due to the chip shortage that have the nice tech and luxuries of a new truck without the lifter problems.

Does "the market" include the used market? If so it's the previous generation Tundra.

I've had two F150 Ecoboost and they've both been great. Just have to understand that turbos are a wear component and at some point need to be replaced. Fords been doing them forever now. If you get a V6 turbo you want the Ford.

Just talked to a well driller yesterday who was staking my property and he has over 400k on his 2011 EcoBoost. Said he's done the cam phasers once and the plugs/coils once. I was pretty impressed. Truck overall was in great condition and even had the 6.5' bed on a crew cab.

And to answer the OP's question, Titan XD if you can find one. Previous gen tundra is nice, but it annoys me that you couldn't get a 6.5' bed with a crew cab.

I'm in a 3.5 boost now with 50k miles and no issues.

Because of all these known problems and am upgrading to a HD truck, I've somewhat reluctantly chosen to go with the 7.3 Godzilla gas engine in the fords. Really hope I don't regret it.

Most folks say:
Gas HD Ford or GM. But GM has had some valve body issues.
Boost f150, not sure if there's a certain engine
3.0 diesel Gm 1500
Nissan Titan, if they're even still around

Used, the last generation Tundra by far.

I've read this many places the biggest issue is this one is not sold for any kind of discount they want as much for the new ones as a brand new one

Yeah I'm looking for reliability and performance

After seeing the last repairs on some cars
Mechanics are charging triple what they used to charge.

Who's getting so much back in taxes that it's driving a vehicle decision? I got $500 back and was just excited that I didn't have to pay them this year

then you will probably find it is worth it to pay that premium on a used one as crazy as that seems

A work truck from any of the major brands. The fewer options, the better. Never had a work truck that didn't make it to 300k miles.

I'm getting back $10K. But that's only because we adopted a kid and got a $16K tax credit as a result.

My mechanic had both the 6.2 and the Duramax diesel in a new Denali and both had issues. Brand new. 6.2 was in for a month.

I've had (3) 3.5 Eccoboosts with a combined over 400K miles. Never had a cam phaser issue. Never even had a Check Engine Light come on. None of the 3 were ever in the shop for anything.
That being said, I just traded in a '19 with 110K because I got the feeling I might be living on borrowed time with the cam phasers.
I did get another 3.5L F150 - a '23 Powerboost(hybrid). I've driven it for 1 whole day and love it so far.

I love the performance of the Ford 3.5 Eccoboost and while I read many horror stories, I kept going back because I have had zero problems.

I understand others will have different opinions based on their experiences.

I rarely get anything material back from Uncle Sam, but had to file 12 state tax returns this year and company had over-contributed (not withheld, they cover state taxes) by an average of $400 or so per state. Won't complain about a random bonus check for $5,000!
